Potomac Yard Park

Alexandria, Virginia

Potomac Park is a 21 acre linear urban park located in the Brownfield development of Potomac Yard along Route 1 in Alexandria. LPDA is leading a team of engineers, architects, and utility specialist for the construction documents of this 12 million dollar facility. The park is a proffered private to public conveyance and is being designed to the City of Alexandria standards and with the full design integration of the parks and recreation department.

‘The Yard’ as it is commonly referred to features a unique history as it was the rail hub for the Washington metro region and much of the east coast. Included in LPDA’s design are various interpretive elements including panels, markers, and monuments depicting the sites history.

The design program includes a multi-use trail/ promenade linking a series of urban plazas, tennis, basketball, and volleyball courts, play areas, and interpretive landscape elements.

LPDA’s services are on-going. Construction is underway.
