LPDA and its team of consultants provided master planning for the complete Tobacco Heritage Trail corridor and detailed constructions plans for phase I.
The overall master planning process resulted in a route feasibility plan and overview trail construction costs. Throughout the project, LPDA conducted public meetings to keep local citizens informed. This included a series of meetings in three of the related counties to make the public aware of the planning process and allow them to ask questions.
Phase I encompassed roughly 5 miles of trail corridor to be utilized as a model project—including a logo design and cultural resources study; construction documents and administration for the model trail. For more information, visit the project web site.
Phase I trail was completed in the Fall of 2009.
