Land Planning & Design Associates, Inc. and the Alleghany Highlands Economic Development Corporation (AHEDC) recently completed the downtown visioning project to identify and capitalize on economic development opportunities in downtown Clifton Forge and Covington.
Our efforts included the following:
• Identify potential opportunities for redevelopment, and improvements that align with specific market opportunities.
• Organize community input and gain consensus on specific economic development opportunities, and improvements.
• Outline economic impacts of proposed initiatives, including job creation, sales and tax revenue.
• Outline key marketing strategies designed to attract patrons, businesses and investors.
• Identify a combined vision and path forward.
The Visioning and Strategic Plan will serve as the foundation for future endeavors in Covington and Clifton Forge and assist in securing additional support and funding from private, state, and federal sources. The primary purpose of the project was to create a combined vision for the direction of future economic development and community improvements by providing accurate information, relevant strategies, and clear objectives.
