Get This Party Started

The grand opening of Kilmarnock Town Centre Park is scheduled for July 8th, with music, food and activities. The Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce has already created the official first festival for the park, the Rhythm and Brews Fest, to be held this July. The town has also planned an extensive list of programmed activities for the coming year, including movies, music, and farmers’ markets.

The project started with an idea; To create an economic development generator by investing in facilities that would bring high quality events and amenities to the town for the enjoyment of residents and visitors alike. This would all take place in a destination quality public space near the center of town. Community Planning Partners Inc. and Cite Design prepared the original master plan.

LPDA worked closely with the town to make the idea a reality. LPDA led a team of Architects, Engineers and allied professionals, including Guernsey Tingle Architects, Draper Aden, Greening Urban and Staengl Engineering. The project was managed on a fast track design schedule. We focused on implementing the Town’s vision and on meeting their quality, budget and schedule expectations. As you can see from the photographs` the project is nearing completion. David A. Nice Builders are the contractors and have done a bang-up job.

The park features event space, designated spots for food trucks, restrooms, an amphitheater stage, and a covered market pavilion. It also features a playground, a dog park and splash fountain for daily use by families and kids alike. Whatever your age, Kilmarnock Town Centre Park is sure to have something for anyone in the family to enjoy a good time together.

If you are in the area on Saturday July 8th stop by and enjoy this one of a kind public space.
